Welcome to this unique web site where you can discover how to improve firefighting capabilities specifically for urban-rural fire departments. Facing ever increasing challenges like efficiency, staffing and funding, urban-rural departments (who comprise the majority of our nations fire force) need all the advantages they can get in our present days environment.
The most recent innovation to address these challenges is vacuum apparatus and the INNOVATOR was Firovac™ by Reberland Equipment Inc. A system much larger than a “primer pump” extracts air from the water tank and loads water at 1000-1500gpm, then reverses the air flow to pressure unload water at 1500-2000gpm. This is accomplished with 1 truck and 1-2 people. No other unit or persons are needed to supply the maximum amount of water with the minimum amount of persons and equipment! Initial set up time is much faster and the ability to access nearby static sources greatly speeds up water delivery.
Hours of engineering went into developing this system exclusive for use in fire service because vacuum is not a new system to industries other than fire service. NFPA compliance, safety, ease of operation, compatibility with other systems, quality and serviceability was carefully considered and tested. We have a patented baffel and vent system. NFPA requires 1 of 2 methods for partitions inside the water tank:
1. Containment method, “to contain the water in smaller spaces within the tank” OR
2. Dynamic method, to “disrupt its momentum by changing its direction of motion.” This involves “an arrangement designed to change the direction of the water and turn it into a turbulent motion that absorbs much of its own energy”.
Firovac's patented baffling system has no flat surfaces in the tank for water to “slap” against thereby using the dynamic method, so the turbulent motion of the moving water absorbs its own energy.
Our mission is not just to sell fire trucks or invent something new or different. It is to improve water supply with an efficient uncomplicated system. Vacuum apparatus is changing the culture of urban/rural firefighting.
"I don't divide the world into the weak and the strong, or the successes and the failures, those who make it or those who don't. I divide the world into learners and nonlearners. There are people who learn, who are open to what happens around them, who listen, who hear the lessons. When they do something stupid, they don't do it again. And when they do something that works a little bit, they do it even better and harder the next time. The question to ask is not whether you are a success or a failure, but whether you are a learner or a nonlearner"... "When Smart People Fail" (Simon & Schuster) (Readers Digest Points to Ponder)
Why should non-hydrant areas function in the same vane as areas that have hydrants? Firovac does ANYTHING conventional apparatus does then goes beyond into the next generation of performance. Are you willing to take a look?
