The stated goal was to flow 2000gpm and practice how to best work together on a large fire.

Working from the Walborn Reservoir, thee fill sites were used with 1250 gpm pumpers to load non-vacuum tankers at not over 100psi so as not to damage anyones tanker.  Notice the amount of equipment and personnel this takes.

At the dump site a 2000 GPM ariel from Louisville metered and discharged the water supplied by Marlboro's E-411 with 2 suctions. Marlboro was drafting from 6 portable tanks. Lexington's E-382 was drafting from an additional portable tank through LDH to a hose monster with gauge to meter the flow rate.

Tankers were dispatched according to mutual aid protocol. 2150 GPM flow rate was sustained for 1 hour. Peak flow rate was 2250 GPM.

When undertaking a training of this magnitude, it can often turn into a cluster with many inefficiencies.  Thanks to careful planning by Chief Austin, Coordinator Fereebee and all who participated, everything went well. The only back up was at the... Read More

1500 GPM pumper at 1100 GPM dry hydrant

NOVFA's Water Movement Class (actually a tender shuttle) at the Fire School on March 11, 2017 showed the verstility in the region. There are several vacuum tankers mixed in with non-vacuum tankers in this area. The Water Supply Tactical Advisory Committee along with ISO showcased this versatility in setting up the class.
